Review: Lush Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask

lushrosycheeksheader.jpg

Rosy Cheeks is one of the newer Lush Fresh Face Masks and comes in the 75g black pots for £7.25. It’s also in the offer where you take back five empty, clean black or clear pots or their lip colour tubes and you get a free face mask which is how I get pretty much all of my Lush face masks. This pot can then be used as one of your five different your next one if you want as well.

Rosy Cheeks claims to be calming and a good face mask to reduce redness which is why I decided to give this one a go. My cheeks are pretty pink and it gets even worsein the heat so something to even out any redness on my face is always a good thing. It’s a clay based mask with various rose infusions and rose parts in as well as glycerin, all of which are meant to be calming and cooling for your skin.

Review: BB Seaweed Lush Fresh Face Mask

bbseaweedheader

BB Seaweed (£7.25 for the 75g pot or free when you return five black or clear pots) is one of Lush‘s older masks. I’m not sure if it’s one of the originals but it was definitely there when I started buying Lush in late 2008 so it’s been around a while. I have tried it quite a few times over the years and it’s one I keep going back to. It’s a clay based mask that you use after cleansing your face and leave on to dry for five to ten minutes before washing off. It does make quite a mess, as any clay based ones seem to, but it does seem to work for me.

As the name suggests one of the main skin benefitting ingredients is seaweed and it’s this ingredient that seems to make this the face mask that’s varied the most batch to batch both in thickness and scent compared to other Lush Fresh Face Masks. As it’s fresh seaweed I would guess individual plants, weather, age and probably other influences can change the strength and consistency of the plants.

Recent Empties

mayemptiesheader.jpgI always forget to keep my empties, I start off the month meaning to keep them and then a few weeks in I’ve either forgotten to keep them or got fed up with the clutter and thrown them out. This month, or rather over a month now, I remembered so here’s a post of (almost) everything I used up in April and May so far. I say almost because I’m sure I’ve got rid of some empties just because I forgot.

I didn’t realise until I got them all together how many things I’d actually finished, or how many hand creams I’d had on the go at the same time. I always find that I go ages without finishing anything because they’re big bottle or pots and I’m part way through, but then everything finishes at once so if I did these regularly there would probably be months of a few products going each month and then a big lot like this.

Haul: Lush Fresh Face Masks and a Body Mask

freshfacemaskhaulheader.jpg

I have been hoarding Lush black pots for the past eight years, I don’t go into Peterborough very often which is where my local Lush is and do tend to forget them even when I do. Lush have a scheme where, if you take back five of their black or clear pots, and they recently added lip tint tubes to this, you can get a free fresh face mask. Their Hair Doctor product is also included in it, at least I’ve been told it is but I’ve never tried. The face masks are the fresh face masks, the ones kept in I’ve that you have to store in a fridge in the 75g pots. When you buy them they cost £7.25 but you do get a lot of uses out if the one pot.

As my mum and sister went in on Friday I asked them to swap some of the pots I had and they chose two of these as they were recommended them. The ones they were recommended were BB Seaweed and Catastrophe Cosmetic and the two new ones I wanted to try were Rosy Cheeks and Cup O’ Coffee. Unfortunately Cup O’ Coffee is not in this black pot offer though it’s available in different sizes, the largest one is probably the best to get if you plan on using it as a body scrub.

I’ve had quite a few of these over the years, I have tried all of the range before they did recent releases so as two of these face masks are older ones, I’m going to put a review of those two in here. I could do a post on all of them if anyone wants or if you want to know about one of the older ones then I’ll try to answer them.

Review: H&M Tea Tree Peel Off Face Mask

h&mteatreeheader.gif

I have seen these H&M face masks around but haven’t seen any beauty in ones near me so I added these to my basket on a recent online shopping trip. This Tea Tree Peel Off Face Mask is meant to help with problem skin and, as my skin has been misbehaving recently, I wanted to give it a go. This one costs £1.99 and I got three uses out of it which means it’s actually not a bad price per use.

H&M Haul

header

I recently had a sort out of my clothes and things and made a check list, I find it’s a great way to make sure you don’t get too distracted when shopping and it means you actually leave with what you went in for (rather than ten new nail varnishes and some tops when you go in for jeans, happens way too often for me). Last week I may have ended up spending more than I meant to when I realised that 90% of the things on my wish list were in TK Maxx and H&M which I was on for other things so this week will probably turn into a bit of a haul week. I was planning on doing them all together but then I realised exactly how much will be arriving from TK Maxx and that one alone may need to be a two parter. So, sorry if you’re not a fan of haul posts.

Today’s haul is from H&M and not all that big. My original thing to get from H&M was bras, for some reason no matter how many makes I try the ones from H&M are the only ones that fit me comfortably and unfortunately the H&Ms near me have a very small range available so it’s online I go. I did end up adding a few extras in here, as well as the T-shirts that I needed, because I have never seen any of the beauty products in the stores near me and wanted to give them a go. I did manage to limit myself to things I actually use or need to replace anyway so I don’t feel too bad.

Review: TonyMoly I’m Real Red Wine Pore Care Sheet Mask

Hey guys, how’s your week been? This wasn’t my planned Friday post but I’ve been working on giving the blog a makeover, well the planning stage of it, and time kind of got away from me. I think I’ve looked at so many fonts the word sample just looks wrong to me now! This year I will actually do the makeover I planned last year, but more on that next week.

I am trying to improve my skin care routine, and part of that is to use a face mask once a week (unless it’s one that happens to say use more regularly) and, as I have so many sheet masks I thought I’d start with one of them. If I keep up with this I’ll probably turn these into bonus weekend posts as they’re going to be short. Today’s face mask is a TonyMoly sheet mask, one of a set of eleven I bought recently from f2plus1 on eBay, and it’s the I’m Real Red Wine Sheet Mask for Pore Care

Although I haven’t seen any of these in the U.K. apparently some of the TonyMoly I’m Real face mask range have been spotted in TK Maxx so worth checking your local to see if they have them. Otherwise I bought mine from eBay, they are available from a range of sellers, either individually or wholesale or, as is the case with mine, as part of a set where you get one of each variety. The prices to vary depending on what you get but with the full set I think it often comes to around £1 a face mask.

Review: Tony Moly Buried Digda Pop Up From the Ground Peel Off Pack

I do love a good peeling face mask and the fact that the TonyMoly Pokemon line has one makes it even better. It’s the Buried Digda Pop Up From the Ground Peel Off Pack, which may be one of the longest names for a face mask that I’ve ever had. I love how peel off face masks are so much easier to remove and there’s a lot less mess than traditional face masks, you sit there for ten or fifteen minutes and peel it off. Plus there’s something oddly satisfying about that peeling feeling, like when you get glue on your hands at school. Or is it just me that likes that?

I don’t know if there’s a permanent line version of this as I think the Pokemon line is limited edition so it’s one to find soon if you want to give it a go. Luckily it does have a 12 month life once opened and it’s sealed so I think it’d be ok to stock up on. I found this one on the f2plus1 eBay store but it seems to be available from quite a few places so it depends on which you pick to buy it from. Most of them seem to have it from £7 to £10 for the tube, which holds quite a few uses as you do only need a very thin layer so you probably pay £1-£2 per application I think.

Korean Beauty Haul

Since getting a Meme box a couple of years ago I have loved all of the Korean beauty products I’ve tried. I also recently also found the TonyMoly Pokemon range and the Holika Holika Gudetama range and may have had a wish list that was way more than I could actually buy so quite a bit of this order is from those two collections. I do love sheet masks and have been wanting to try more Korean ones, knowing how well a lot of the skincare seems to get on with my skin, so I bought a selection pack along with a moisturiser I know works.

I’ve made a few orders from the f2plus1 eBay store, the eBay store for Beauty Net Korea, so I trust them. Add in the cheaper prices than getting these things anywhere in the UK and the free postage I definitely recommend them if you’re in the UK. They did have a sale on where everything had money off, at the time I think almost everything was around 14% which seems an odd number but getting a bargain is always good.

Advent 2016: Day 2!

The second day of advent has more goodies and the chocolate has, once again, barely survived long enough for the photos. Something about Lindt chocolate is just so good and it’s so melty. The Marks and Spencer calendar has a tube of Rodial Super Acids X-treme Acid Rush Peel, the Ciate Mini Mani Month had a mini of Boudoir and the Yankee Candle tea light is Winter Glow.

These advent posts are going up daily with mini reviews and first impressions of the things I get in them. I am going to do proper, longer, reviews on some of them when I’ve had more of play around with them so if you see something in one of these posts you want to know more about ask and I’ll put it to the top of the list.
