Fortune Cookie Soap Box: A Pirate’s Life For Me

FCSpiratesheader

Last Thursday the summer Soap Box from Fortune Cookie Soap arrived so I’ve had some time to play around with most of the products to see how they work. Fortune Cookie Soap are an American company that make bath and body products and, once every few months so each season, they release a main collection and you can see inscribe to their Soap Box so they send out a box full of said please and two full sized products, one in each of the upcoming scents.

Most seasons they tend to stay pretty much within the trends for that season but they also have a second theme and this one is one I love and am excited about as it’s Pirates of the Caribbean inspired with the name A Pirate’s Life for Me. You get six sample sizes and two full sized products. The ‘samples’ though are a pretty good size and you get multiple uses out if most of them, things like bath bombs and melts are one off but most have enough for multiple uses.

Advent 2016: Day 18!

Today’s advent has a Cosy By the Fire tea light for the second day in a row, I guess they did it randomly but it would have been nice to have a bit of a gap between the same scent. The Ciate today has a really dark berry red, it’s so dark to see the more berry side of it and it looks like a very dark brown. I love the range in this year’s Mini Mani Month, it’s like a mini nail varnish collection in one go, I think it’d be a good gift for any nail varnish fan and down at half price at £25 on their own website if you want to get it. The Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar has a tube of Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Magic Body Touch Body Cream, it’s the cream version of a shower gel foam we got last year so it seems like it’s a popular scent.

May Favourites: Nails, Music and Makeup

image

I think this may be the most things I’ve included in a monthly favourites but they’re things I’ve been loving and have almost finished a couple of them. Unfortunately my laptop screen is not working very well, it just jumps around a lot whenever I use my computer for more than ten minutes so I’ll be trying to sort that out but at the moment I’m writing this on my phone with photos taken on the iPad so sorry if the picture quality isn’t great.

Fortune Cookie Soap: Let it Grow Spring 2016 Soap Box

FCSspring2

This morning my spring edition of the Fortune Cookie Soap Box arrived so I’m going to do a post about it now I’ve had a bit of a play around with some of the things. It’s more of a first impressions than a proper review but I have looked at everything.

If you haven’t heard of them before Fortune Cookie Soap are a company in the USA who make bath and body products and their signature product is the fortune cookie shaped soap. They have a large range of permanent products as well as regularly releasing limited edition seasonal ranges that are around for a while and mini collections that are a lot more limited and sell out fast. Their website is here but this collection isn’t available until February 19th. They do a Soap Box that’s released every few months before each of the main collections is released, normally for the seasons so four times a year. As I live in the UK this has taken a while to get here, if I believe the postage sticker thing then over a month as it says 2nd January postage so that’s worth knowing if you’re worried about it arriving if you order it in the future. The box contains 8 -10 samples of a range of products, one in each of the scents that’s going to be released in the upcoming range. Included in this are two full sized products; one of their fortune cookie soaps and a small size of the OCD hand sanitizer. They used to only sell this size but have recently started to sell a larger version too.

Each of the seasonal collections has another theme alongside normally, this time it’s Let it Grow which I think it based around something Dr Seuss related if I remember correctly, maybe someone can tell me which one as I can’t find it after looking online for a bit. I don’t know what it’s based on so I won’t get any in jokes and none of them really stand out as obviously to do with anything Dr Seuss that I remember.

First Impressions: Skin Food Snoopy Nails and Body Cream

image

I’m not sure when these were released but I saw some posts on blogs about some Snoopy products being released by the South Korean beauty brand Skin Food. I love Snoopy, I’ve got a load of the old books from when my dad was little that I’ve grown up reading so I had to get some of these. There’s a range with nail varnishes, nail transfers, hand and body creams and some honey liquid things that I don’t really know what they do. I managed to keep it down to only five things though I could have bought everything. I ended up buying from a shop on eBay so that’s probably your best bet for finding them if you’re outside South Korea. I could do a review of the store if you want as well, I might as they were really good and I got quite a few free samples along with my order.

The products I decided to get were the two nail varnish glitter coats, I think they’re Cutie Snoopy and Excited Snoopy and they have a nice range of sizes and colours of glitter in them, both of the kinds of nail transfers and the Honey and Shea Butter whipped body cream. I’ve had a bit if a play around with the nail varnishes and the body butter so I have some idea of what they’re like but haven’t used the nail transfers yet.

Fortune Cookie Soap: Zombie Survival Kit Soap Box

FCSzombies10

Fortune Cookie Soap is a company that I’ve reviews products from in the past, they’re based in America and sell bath and body products. They have a box of samples they release as a preview for each of the collections they release in the year and you can sign up here for future boxes, the Christmas one will ship on 2nd November. These boxes have a range of products in sample sizes as well as two full sized products, sometimes new product types are introduced in them. This box was a separate collection to the normal subscription and is for Halloween with a Zombie Survival Kit theme. I like the names and product scents in their collections, they normally have a range of scents and the names fit well with the theme.

I normally find that the Halloween scents and collections are some of my favourites, there’s always some mulled fruit scents and spicy smells that I really like. Zombie Survival Kit seems like a great theme, and it’s more specific than just Halloween. The added extra this time was a plaster, though I don’t know what colour it is it looks like it’s a dark one with maybe a pattern on. I’m keeping it for if I ever need it, it’ll be a bit different than the normal coloured ones I have.

Fortune Cookie Soap: Old Hollywood Soap Box

FCSoldhollywood12

Fortune Cookie Soap are an American company who make bath and body products and their signature product is, you’ve probably guessed it, the fortune cookie shaped soap. You can subscribe to the Soap Box here, where they send out a small box of samples, with normally two full sized products (a fortune cookie soap and hand sanitizer) in different products that are the scents in the upcoming collection along with a code for $10 off an order which is emailed separately. These are sent out every season so roughly every three months and this one is the Autumn (or Fall if you’re American) collection. They normally have some other theme as well as the season and this time it’s Old Hollywood, which is rather intriguing and I like the idea of the names of these products.

This box arrived on Tuesday so I’ve had the time to play around with everything and give them a proper go to review them rather than just first impressions. In the UK we do tend to get them a bit later due to shipping so this is a bit behind some of the American bloggers.

Fortune Cookie Soap: Peter Pan Summer Soap Box

FCSpeterpan

You may have seen my previous posts on Fortune Cookie Soap, I do love their products and their quarterly subscription box lets you try smaller versions of their new line before it’s released. This can be found on their site, this is the page for the soap boxes. They have lots of limited edition mini collections as well as their seasonal lines so it’s worth checking back fairly regularly if you like the look of a couple in the permanent range but want to make it worth the postage, which can be quite high if you live in the UK as they’re in America.

The company makes bath and body products and their signature is the fortune cookie shaped soaps which I love as they have a formula that means they last quite a while, lather well especially with scrubby gloves, but they aren’t so huge as to last ages which I find a problem with some soaps. I like to have a range of scents and don’t stick to just one until it’s finished so I’ve had soaps go on for ages before. I’m getting better at not doing that but these smaller soaps do help.

Enchanted Christmas review

enchantedchristmas4

This Christmas’ theme was New York and all the scents are based on places and things found around the city. I did get the sample set for these so I knew what the scents would be like in advance and bought products in three of these scents though afterwards I realised I wanted to get some in the gingerbread scent which was amazing too. I loved all of the scents but these three were the ones that stood out to me.
