Paperchase Haul

paperchasehaulheader

When I made this order I started out planning to get three or four things but my basket kind of grew. It turned into a bit of a mix of everything really, though since taking photos I have a feeling that quite a few bits may be used in future photos, even though only one or two things were bought for this. I never thought I’d be buying things to use as props but I want to work on my photography for my blog so have been browsing more home decor sections and it’s very hard not to buy a load of things I don’t need to decorate my room.

This haul is from Paperchase, I think most of this is available in a lot of their stores, even the smaller one near me has quite a bit of this, but it is all still available online. I do love their stationery and always go to them when it comes to Christmas decorations but I haven’t really looked at them for décor and I could have bought a lot more.

Book Review: Red Nose Day Colouring Note Book

rndbookheader

I realise that this year I haven’t actually done that well when it comes to actual book reviews, I will admit my first book of the year has proved a longer read than I expected. Today’s book review is kind of a mix of a notebook and a colouring book and has been sold in TK Maxx in partnership with Comic Relief with a portion of the money going towards the charity as with the rest of the range. This product donated £2 of the £5.99 to the charity.

This year’s Red Nose Day collection at TK Maxx is based around photographs by fashion photographer Rankin. They’re all photos if abimals, though they’re either dressed up or have a red nose added in afterwards. The majority are black and white with one in colour, which lends itself to a colouring in book as you can give them the traditional colours or go pop art and bright colours. These are all available exclusively at TK Maxx, though I think the books and other more home products are also available at Home Sense, their home and lifestyle stores, and is available online here or in stores.

Etsy Planner Supplies Haul

I’ve always loved organisers and planners, I think it comes from my mum who is definitely a lists person who has to do lists all the time. When I was at school I used to make so many to do lists for assignments and things but since leaving school, in my everyday life, I always seem to start these things with good intentions each year and then they fall apart a few months in. At least last year I lasted until September before my planner became bare with nothing but birthdays in it. This year I’ve decided to give it another go and this time it’ll be different. I may say that every year but this time I bought some new things that I love and I’ve already don’t more planner decorating than I have before.

Since I first saw them I’ve always thought the Erin Condren planners look amazing and there are so many stickers out there for them. However I have my personal sized Filofax which is big enough for me so nothing ever seemed to fit. However this year I found someone on Etsy who sells inserts for Filofaxes that have the perfect size boxes for the vertical style planners in Stamp Magic so I may have gone slightly over the top in buying some things from there and another Etsy store, Lucinda Charlotte Designs.

What I Got for Christmas

This is a bit late, it’s definitely taking me a while to recover from Christmas this year, but I wanted to post it as I like reading what other people get for Christmas. It almost feels like I should have titled this the year of Soap and Glory or something as I have quite a bit from them. Though I do often as for the big set when it’s at half price and they last me till next Christmas, I’m not sure how much Soap and Glory I’ve actually bought the past four or five years.

Amazon and Paperchase Recent Purchases: Getting Ready For Christmas

Happy late Thanksgiving to any of you guys who celebrate it and happy Black Friday/Black Tag shopping even for people who don’t. I managed to get a couple of bargains with some clothes I wanted anyway and a big order for goodies from Holland and Barrett (I’ll have so much dried fruit and snacks over Christmas we could get snowed in and we’d be fine!) Have you guys braved the stores or found any bargains online? Or just avoided the whole thing altogether?

paperchaseamazon1

I’m feeling rather Christmassy recently and I decided to do an order from Paperchase to get some decorations, I got a new tree last year that’s slightly bigger than the one I had for 12 years and finally gave up on me so I wanted some extra decorations. I also did a smallish order from Amazon, a couple of things I’ve wanted for ages and I might finally be getting organised for my Ciate advent calendar swatching this year, or nail varnishes in general, and getting some nail wheels that I’ve been meaning to get for nearly two years now.

There’s a few things in these orders that are sort of bought with the idea of using them for photographs for the blog so I’m hoping that I’ll finally have a definite backing and some decorations. It’s taken me two years, long enough right?

ME Myself and I: Making Christmas Cards

I just got a new phone so all photos in this post come from the camera to see how well if works.

I love making cards it’s one hobby that’s fairly easy to find cheap materials for and it’s low energy as you can make them as simple as you like. It’s also fairly low energy, or can be, as you can spend five minutes in a simple card with precut things and out everything in a tub to go back to later.

A few of the things in the post I’ve had for years but a lot is from Hobby craft this year if you see something you want to get yourself. I could do a haul post with links and more details if you want to know how to get each one.

Do Crafts Goody Bag: Gorjuss

gorjussgoodybag19.jpg

A couple of weeks ago I went to The Range near me and found this Goody Bag from Do Crafts full of Gorjuss crafting goodies. I bought one of their bags before a month or so ago and did a post on it, it was great value and I’ve used quite a few bits from it but this one was so pretty I had to get it. I do love the style of Gorjuss products, the colours and the patterns are really nice and very few of these products have the girls on them that are the trademark style of the company so they’re good to use for anything and anyone.

This bag costs £15 and the Do Crafts website has a range of their Goody Bags as well as other products and ideas for designs to do with the products in the bags. I can’t see this one on there but I have found all of the products to see their RRP and the value of the bag does come out at about £32.50, give or take a few pence. The other Goody Bags available can be found here, I’m definitely considering getting a couple of them, the Christmas one looks good and I might actually get Christmas cards made in time to send them out this year.

This review is of the Gorjuss Goody Bag, there are seven different products in it, all of them art and crafty and great for card making but I’m considering using one of them for jewellery, I’ll see how it goes and maybe do a post on what I actually do with them some time.

Review: Staedtler Triplus Fineliner 36 Pack

Having got more into adult colouring books and my old fine liners being nine or ten years old I thought it was time to get a new set with some fun new colours. My older set were Staedtler Triplus Fineliners so I decided to go with the same brand as I know how they work and liked them in the past. On a recent trip to The Range I saw this set of 36 for £19.99 which seemed like a good price as I’ve only found them online between £22-£25, though of course now I’ve bought them the price has gone down on Amazon so they’re around £18 there. It seems that the RRP is £42 which seems expensive and I don’t think anywhere is selling them for that price at the moment.
