Review: Harry Potter Funko Mystery Minis

harrypotterfunkominisheader.gif

I’m not sure when these were released, though I do kind of want to collect all of them now I know they exist. I found three of the Funko Mystery Minis from the Harry Potter collection on eBay, though as I knew which they were these aren’t exactly mysteries. I think that in the UK these are only available online, with the prices ranging from £4.99 to £12.99 as a mystery, unopened box and the different characters have different prices depending on the rarity.

Maybe it’s just me but there seem to have been a lot of different Funko Mini Mystery box series released, a large amount seem to be from various TV series and a lot of Disney characters. I might have to get a few of those some time in the future.

Review: Funko Pop! Tenth Doctor Doctor Who Vinyl Figure

funkopopten9.jpg

When I saw that Funko was doing a Doctor Who collection I wanted all of them, maybe I’ll get the rest later but as 10 is my favourite of the ones on the first wave he seemed like a good place to start. The prices for the Tenth Doctor figure seem to range from £8.99 to around £12 depending on where you find them but they seem to be available in most places I’ve found that sell Funkos as it’s still a recent range.

This figure is the Tenth Doctor figure based on the character played by David Tennant and is part of the Funk Pop Television range. I like the range available in this collection but I think it would have been nice to have the Ninth Doctor rather than the Fourth Doctor in there simply to have all the reboot ones in the first wave, though I do understand that Four played by Tom Baker is probably the most well known of the original series.

Review: Funko Pop Sherlock With Violin

funkosherlock8.jpg

Having not bought any Funko Pops until last year because there weren’t many franchises I was interested that they did, or that were being made when I found them, suddenly they started to make figures for a lot of my favourite shows. One of them is Sherlock, or I guess more specifically it’s Sherlock Holmes in general but I do like the Benedict Cumberbatch version. I originally meant to buy Mycroft and Irene Adler but then I found this Sherlock with Violin and I loved the detail so bought it a while ago. He’s been sat on my bookshelf, along with my Sherlock Holmes books, he just kept falling down the list of my Tuesday posts.

Funko Pop are vinyl figures, they’re normally 10cm (4”) tall though this does vary slightly with hair and details. They do some larger figures, like Hagrid in the Harry Potter range, but this is one of the standard sized figures. The price seems to vary a lot, it ranges between £9 and £12 that I’ve found online but this particular figure, at the time I got him, wasn’t available on most sites so I got him from Amazon which seems to be the best price often for these Funko Pops figures.

Blind Boxes: Re-Ment PomPomPurin Dog Pudding Café and Rilakkuma Cat Café

re-ment1

I have always loved miniatures, I think it may have started with Sylvanian Families when I was little, and so when I discovered Re-Ments a few years ago I had to get some. I have managed to keep it down to only a few, mainly due to shipping costs as they’re imported from Japan or me not getting the ones I wanted before they sold out.

Re-Ments are basically blind boxes with miniatures in, they come in sets which often have six or eight different variations and you have no idea which one you’re getting when you buy them. There must be hundreds of the separate collections by now and they all have themes, a lot of the more recent ones are tied in with TV shows or popular characters like Hello Kitty. They are pretty detailed and good quality, especially for the size, and they are the perfect size for a lot of figures, think Barbie or similar, especially when it comes to the food themed ones. They also look nice hidden amongst plants when it comes to certain themes, I have a cat from one of these in amongst my mini cactus garden at the moment.

I recently bought a couple of these from Tofu Cute, a website that sells Japanese imports, and now I know they have them I have a feeling my collection might grow quite a bit. I decided to get one from two collections; the PomPomPurin Pudding Dog Café (sold out at the moment) and the Rilakkuma Cat Café (£5.99 each). They arrived quickly and I have had them for a while as I forgot to do this post when I first got them but I really like them.

Review: Funko Pop Severus Snape Vinyl Figure

snape1

I have been wanting the Harry Potter Funko Pops since I heard they were releasing them and, nearly a year later, I have finally got one, or more specifically two but I’m only reviewing the one today. It’s going to be a pretty short review but I’ve included photos of some of the details so you can see exactly what the figure is like if you’re thinking about getting it.

The price for these seems to range quite a bit but I bought these when they were on Amazon.co.uk for around £9.20, they seem to go out of stock in suppliers on there pretty quickly but each time they were replaced by another that is dispatched by Amazon themselves so I stuck with them, even though some of the prices may have been less elsewhere I chose free postage so it kept the price lower in the end. I have seen it stocked in quite a few places online, I know they were on Forbidden Planet and there are some places that stock only Funk Pop figures so it might be worth looking around if you want one to see the best deal.

Recent Purchases: A Very Potter Amazon Order

amazon1

It feels like I’m doing more of these recent purchases posts recently but next week I should be back to normal posting schedule, I seem to finally be getting over this cold thing. I did plan another post for tonight but then this arrived in the post and I was too excited to look at them so had to post this tonight. Almost everything in this order has been going in and out of my basket on Amazon over the past few months and all of them happened to be cheaper at the same time so I bought them. I hadn’t actually heard of the Illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone until a couple of weeks ago but I saw some photos on Instagram of an illustrated Harry Potter in amongst other Potter goodies so I had to look it up. I got everything in this post from Amazon.co.uk but they’re available in a lot of other places, I haven’t seen the Illustrated Harry Potter anywhere else but I haven’t really looked in book shops, I saw the price on here and just got it.

Review: Funko POP! Robin Hood

robinhoodpop

This is the second part of the order I made with Amazon that included the Disney DVDs, I just thought it should have a review of its own. This is the Funko POP! figure of Robin Hood from the Disney movie, it is the 97th figure (I didn’t realise they’d made that many before now!) and comes from the 6th series according to the box. There are two other figures in the series; Prince John which is number 98 and Sir Hiss who is number 99. I think I may end up buying both of these in the future if they’re a reasonable price as they both look amazing to me, Sir Hiss especially. These figures seem to be ones that fluctuate in price quite a bit, though it seems to stay around the £10 – £15 mark on amazon.co.uk here. The Robin Hood figure is £12.99 like it was when I ordered it so this one may be staying constant at the moment.
